Female genital mutilation (FGM): a Continuum of Care? Experiences and needs of family doctors in Central Switzerland. Study by Dr. med. Carolin Dhakal
Family doctors in Central Switzerland are confronted with female genital mutilation (FGM) in their daily work. To date, there is no data on family doctors with regards to FGM in Switzerland. The aim of this study was to assess the experiences and needs of family doctors in Central Switzerland relevant to FGM. The study has been submitted 2018 as a master thesis by Dr. med. Carolin Dhakal to the Swiss Tropical and Public Health Institute, University of Basel, in partial fulfilment of the tropEd Masters Programme in International Health, in collaboration with the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at the Cantonal Hospital Lucerne and the Network against Female Genital Cutting Switzerland.
